2013 Wedding Trend No. 1 .... Emerald!

Although Pantone named Emerald the color of the year back in December we're thrilled to see that it's rapidly gaining popularity in the design world! And is very happily exploding on to the wedding scene!
Emerald is really such a wonderful color for 2013 weddings, it compliments many of the other trends we've listed for the upcoming season. It makes for an absolutely stunning color scheme for a Roaring 20's theme, it embodies glamour, and is fabulously bold for prints and patterns! We really had to limit ourselves on the selections for this post. A quick google search of  "emerald weddings" and you'll be lost for hours. Seriously! Don't do it work...
Enjoy the few photos(we really tried to limit it!!) we've collected of our
Number One Wedding Trend of 2013; Emerald!!

And don't forget to leave us your thoughts in the comments, we wanna know who will be sporting this trend this year?!

2013 Wedding Trend No. 2 The Roaring 20's

We're down to number two on our top ten wedding trends for 2013, and this week it's all about the roaring 20's! I'm sure you've seen on our blog that we're a little obsessed with this Gatsby style trend over here with tips on hosting a sip & speakeasy party, and our guide for throwing a fabulous glitzy Gatsby wedding at The Muckenthaler. But how could we not!? First off the Muckenthaler has it's own original speakeasy door, and when you spend as much time there as we do it's hard not to imagine the glories of yesteryear. Secondly the film is being released this year. And as with all visually stunning films, a theme is born. Luckily for all of us it's a beautiful wedding theme...

This theme sits beautifully at The Muck, an old theater, or train depot! (I can't even imagine the gorgeousness!) Unfortunately art deco buildings are not rampant around southern California. But you can always do wonders in a ballroom!
Just don't forget the chandelier...
or the getaway car!

2013 Wedding Trends No. 3 Elegance

Alright assuming you read the title to this blog, we aren't saying weddings haven't been elegant before!
Okay now that that's out of the way, No. 3 on our list of wedding trends is Elegance!

Now when we say Elegance is an upcoming trend we're really predicting that "rustic" will be making a graceful exit making way for glamorous, elegance!

We still expect to see lot's of vintage, which we can't get enough of! But we're anticipating more hollywood regency, and gilded gatsby style. With Chandeliers, lush florals and lots of sparkle!

Venue Spotlight - Santiago Canyon

One of the things we pride ourselves in most is working with some of the greatest vendors and venues in Orange County. And we always love sharing them with you , this weeks Venue Spotlight is; 'The Santiago Canyon Estate'. Nestled in the mountains of Silverado Canyon, the privately owned estate boasts a facade that's as breathtaking as the views surrounding the home. The estate is available for Social, Corporate, and Weddings all year long, both with indoor and outdoor spaces (and pools).

All of the photos are courtesy of  Miss Darcy Photography for The Center OC's Annual Indigo Ball. Which was loads of fun for everyone(and went wonderfully with the sparkling blue pools!). You can attend this years Indigo Ball as well tickets are on sale now!

Setting the Table for Two

Image via Between Naps on the Porch
Valentine's Day is quickly approaching!(didn't we JUST celebrate New Years!).  And what could be more romantic then a wonderful dinner at home, away from the crowds of people, fighting over tables, and show tickets. So this week we have a special setting the table, Valentine's edition!

Adding decor to change the look and feel of your home always makes things feel extra special and Valentine's Day is no exception (otherwise it's just dinner right?).

Valentine's Day is innately a girly holiday which means we can still enjoy pretty pinks, and glitter as much as we'd like. It's the perfect time to take out grandma's delicate china and use all of the cute girly things we can't resist, that our gentlemen callers could care less about.

For a more dramatic look, we'll stick to the traditional color of Valentine's day; red.
Red is, after all, the color of passion and can be used in a very bold way, or in deeper tones for a more romantic look.

Just as we made valentine's out of paper and doilies when we were young this is a great holiday for DIYs (especially because you'll only have to make two of everything!). So print out menus for your dinner, and add placecards to really make it special!

You can even make your own decor for the table. Use ribbon in various sizes and colors to create a simple and cost effective table runner.

We all know that the traditional flower of Valentine's is the red rose, but we also know they're extremely expensive during this holiday season.  So keep it simple with a single rose, or choose another seasonal flower in red or pink. And of course you don't want to forget the candles! Because they're romantic, and everyone looks better in candle light...

And of course we've got you covered when it comes to the food, with our Chef's specially crafted tasting menu for two.  So you can just relax and enjoy Valentine's Day with your Valentine!

2013 Wedding Trend No. 4 Laser Cuts

As our list of trends is narrowing down, we're still so excited about each one and all of the possibilities each holds. This week we're unveiling our number four trend on the list 'Laser Cuts'. This may be something most brides are unfamiliar with, but will soon be swooning over! Laser Cutting is a technique that uses a laser to cut materials, and is typically used for industrial manufacturing. However, as with every good wedding trend, some crafty people figured out how to make it into something pretty for weddings!

From the stationary, to your dress, to cupcake liners this is a stunning trend that we hope to see more of!
And as it speaks for itself we thought we'd let the photos do the talking...
