The Late Night Snack

It's Wedding Wednesday again our favorite day of the week! Actually any day we get to focus on food and parties is our favorite day of the week. A great wedding trend that we love is surprising your guests with a midnight snack during your reception. After dinner and cake guests will have danced themselves hungry again so serving a snack is a great pick me up to keep the party going. It also serves a purpose of soaking up some of that alcohol before the last dance.

The Holiday Feasting Table

We've seen our share of elongated kings tables in the wedding world but it's definitely a pleasant surprise to find this trend popping up in the corporate world. This Holiday season Corporate parties will be sporting these elongated tables for their employees to feast together a la Tiny Tim in Charles Dickens "A Christmas Carol". Feasting Tables create a more familial setting where all of your guests can truly enjoy the meal together!

It's fall which means it's also the ideal time for apples! And though we can't quite make it to every apple festival (and we really wish we could) we're still satisfying our craving for apples here at the shop.

DIY Wedding at The Muckenthaler

We're head over heels with this wedding, Nicole and Joshua were married at our very own Muckenthaler Mansion this past August and it's one of our favorites. After seeing this wedding in person we couldn't wait to get the photos and share it with all of you!

This wedding was a photographers dream, with a beautiful color palette, lots of texture and tons of details!
The bride herself was responsible for designing and creating all of the elements for her wedding day, and she did such a good job. Enjoy this feast for the eyes!

We tend to take for granted the experience of sharing food with our loved ones. So why not slow down and enjoy a classic dinner party at home, it's a simple party that doesn't  require to much planning beyond the menu. With food as the focus, this kind of party is all about the experience of eating and making a meal important. 

Holidays at The Mansion

If you were to imagine throwing the perfect holiday party, wouldn't you want it to be at a historic 1920's mansion?

 That's what we thought. 

 For company holiday parties, or even large families, choosing the right venue for your event can be difficult. When it comes to the holidays we all long for the warmth of familiar faces and a sense of home.

Winter weddings hold a sort of nostalgia as we dream of snow capped mountains and hot apple cider only to peel our legs off of the leather couch in disappointment. But fortunately through the magic of the internet we can look at  winter wedding and start planning for the season ahead! So here's some of that beautiful winter wedding inspiration...

Metallic Cakes

 Winter weddings are right around the corner and we couldn't be more excited for all of the trends we'll see this year! Having a winter wedding means we get to have more drama, gone are the days of light and airy decor we're ready for deep rich hues and METALLICS! So we've gone ahead and collected some of the best metallic wedding cakes we've seen around the web, now we just need a bride so we can start creating! This is another great trend that we're seeing where it's bold but transcends styles, much like the ombre cake. It can be added delicately on to the details of your cake with some metallic dusting, or you can be bold and have an entire cake covered in metallic. For a more traditional look choose your three tier cake and dazzle your guests with an unexpected 'pop' by choosing a single layer of your cake to be metallic.

The Office Party

Holiday parties are a work place tradition that every one looks forward to all year long. Constantly satirized in sitcoms as the party where everyone gets a little crazy sometimes that's exactly what we need at work after a long year of sales, and meetings!

Many companies large and small choose to host their annual holiday party at the office. This party choice is usually a bit more on the casual side of things with cocktails and appetizers. This party style opens up the party to communicating between all of your co workers instead of having a more formal affair where guests sit with the same group all night.
