2013 Wedding Trend No. 4 Laser Cuts

As our list of trends is narrowing down, we're still so excited about each one and all of the possibilities each holds. This week we're unveiling our number four trend on the list 'Laser Cuts'. This may be something most brides are unfamiliar with, but will soon be swooning over! Laser Cutting is a technique that uses a laser to cut materials, and is typically used for industrial manufacturing. However, as with every good wedding trend, some crafty people figured out how to make it into something pretty for weddings!

From the stationary, to your dress, to cupcake liners this is a stunning trend that we hope to see more of!
And as it speaks for itself we thought we'd let the photos do the talking...

2013 Wedding Trends No. 6 Prints & Patterns

On the horizon for 2013 we're expecting to see an array of prints and patterns. Lot's of fabulous chevron, polka dots, hounds-tooth and stripes will emerge in everything from linens to the wedding cake!
Adding patterns make a nice bold statement with minimal effort. It also adds another layer of depth to your design. A lot of our past brides have chosen elegant black and white. But don't be afraid of color! 2013 will be a year of color. Sometimes more is more. And patterns is one of those times.
So let your imagination run wild! and explore patterns and prints, mix and match, forget your inhibitions!

Jesi Haack a local orange county designer is wonderfully talented at using prints and patterns and we definitely recommend her blog for the most extraordinary design ideas! Like the fabulous ones below.

Number eight on our wedding trends of 2013 is Birds! Of course we prefer to think of them, as 'love birds'. Add a little whimsy to your wedding day with a bird theme. This is a theme that transcends styles, and fits brides with a flare for vintage or contemporary. From prints and patterns to birdcages
and handmade bird cake toppers it is quite a lovely wedding trend!

2013 Wedding Trends No.9 Minimalistic

Continuing our countdown of 2013 wedding trends is number nine; the minimalistic trend.
The minimalistic wedding where less is more...

If helvecta makes your heart pitter patter and graphic design is your "jam" then this may very well the wedding trend for you! Minimalism is any design or style in which the simplest and fewest elements are used to create the maximum effect. So in the case of weddings, it's reducing your reception to its necessary elements. It's pretty much the opposite of rustic/vintage weddings that have a million adorable nik naks everywhere. However if you're still totally obsessed with vintage as we are, this trend is a wonderful host to mid century mod components.
This trend fits perfectly in a gallery, a loft, or an industrial space. Simple lines, amazing graphics, and stunning pops of color make for an amazing minimalistic feast for the eyes.

2013 Wedding Trends No.10 Birch

We've been getting ready for the new year of wedding trends and styles. After researching online and hearing from our upcoming brides we've put together our list of the Top Ten Wedding Trends for 2013.
Starting with this Wedding Wednesday we will be counting down the top ten trends for 2013, and this week we're revealing number 10: Birch.
We're loving these wooden touches at weddings! These whimsical wooden accents definitely add an amazing natural feel to a rustic wedding. From the table to the buffet, planks of wood make beautiful table runners, and tree stumps are fabulous cake stands!  And If you’ve always dreamed of an outdoor wedding, but find yourself with a great indoor venue instead – you can add some wooden accents to your big day to bring the outdoors inside.

DIY Wedding at The Muckenthaler

We're head over heels with this wedding, Nicole and Joshua were married at our very own Muckenthaler Mansion this past August and it's one of our favorites. After seeing this wedding in person we couldn't wait to get the photos and share it with all of you!

This wedding was a photographers dream, with a beautiful color palette, lots of texture and tons of details!
The bride herself was responsible for designing and creating all of the elements for her wedding day, and she did such a good job. Enjoy this feast for the eyes!
